Crush Your GOALS | Vision Board DIY

As the new year approached, I really started to reflect on the entirety of 2018. I thought about the goals I set for myself in the beginning of that year. I also took the time to start thinking about what my goals were going to be for 2019. This time gave me the opportunity to acknowledge what I accomplished in the last year but also what I may not have accomplished. During this time of reflection, I realized that I needed a new game plan to help me meet my goals. Why you ask? Well, if I’m being completely honest, I found myself a little disappointed about how 2018 was. While nothing awful necessarily happened and for that I am grateful, I just felt like I didn’t put my all into my goals. I did meet some of my goals but I know I could have done more. Which is exactly why I decided that 2019 would be a year of goal getting.

First I just want to say that I enjoy this time of year because it totally feels like a fresh chapter is beginning. I like the idea of setting goals.. but I also want to make sure I’m following through with said goals. I knew that I needed to change something to ensure that my goals for 2019 would be met. I started looking through Pinterest and stumbled upon none other than a vision board. I had heard of them, I had seen them but I had never made one. I’m actually kind of shocked that I didn’t decide to do this sooner because I’m totally a visual kind of person. I like to see what I need to do in front of me. So after seeing the vision board inspo, I knew that’s what I needed to do for myself!

I immediately went to Walmart.com and looked up cork boards and I saw that my local store had one with white trim in stock. Soon after I was on my way to the store to pick it up! While I was there I grabbed a roll of marble printed contact paper, glue dots (for the smaller things that wouldn’t look good with a pin through them) and some white and gold thumb tacks. At this point, all I needed was the inspirational images to print out and stick on. I scrolled through Pinterest and various websites - screenshotting and saving photos and quotes. Not much longer after, I was printing them all out and applying them to my board! And just like that, my VISION BOARD was born!

Guys, I am so excited that I decided to do this! There is something about seeing your goals in front of you that just makes you want to kick some bootay! Though we are already a few days into the new year, it is NOT too late to create your own vision board. Seriously, I encourage you to make one and see how you feel after you do. Don’t be afraid to put what you really want out of your year out there! Seriously, my goals range from personal things like weight loss to material items like an LV bag. I included things like the new cities I want to travel to and the blogger conference I want to attend. Taylor Swifts photo is on there because she’s a total boss babe and you’ll find tons of inspirational quotes plus much, much more!

I truly hope this inspires you to do one of your own and if you do, be sure to tag me - I’d love to see what your goals look like!! I wish you all a year of success and happiness!
